QuickRCM · Cross-module coordination

Give every revenue-cycle handoff a rule and an owner

QuickRCM Pipeline Orchestration connects module events to the next operational action. Configure which handoffs can run automatically, which require review, which only notify a team, and which stay off until the workflow is ready.

Map a pipeline handoff

Share your workflow and systems. Do not send patient records through the public contact form.

Where this fits

Orchestration coordinates work across modules; it does not replace the underlying eligibility, coding, claims or payment workflow. Evaluate each handoff with its own inputs, approvals and completion criteria instead of enabling a whole pipeline by assumption.

Follow the event, decision and outcome

  1. Receive the source event

Identify the record and the source module's completed action. For example, a claim-denied event can be the starting point for a denial case; it is not an appeal submission.

  2. Resolve the applicable rule

Apply the configured default and any approved facility, payer or specialty override. Check mode, limits and required inputs before the downstream action is permitted.

  3. Route execution or review

Run an allowed automatic action, queue a semi-automatic action for approval, send a notification, or keep the handoff off. Missing prerequisites and exceeded limits need an exception owner.

  4. Record and reconcile

Inspect the execution decision and output. Verify the destination result and any external acknowledgment before advancing dependent work.

Four modes for different levels of readiness

Automatic permits an eligible handoff under its configured rules. Semi-automatic prepares work for human approval. Notify-only informs the team without carrying out the downstream action. Off disables that automation point.

Choose a mode based on the action's risk and validated behavior. A setting that is appropriate for an internal lookup may not be appropriate for an external submission or write-back. Product availability and the selected configuration must be confirmed for your deployment.

Make overrides explainable

The supplied workflow model resolves more specific specialty rules before payer rules, then facility rules, then the default. Review the effective configuration rather than assuming the default controls every record.

Document why an override exists and which workflow owner approved it. Limits and confidence thresholds are operating controls, not a substitute for reviewing policy requirements, source data quality or the authority to perform the action.

Recover with the destination state in view

Execution history helps the team inspect the trigger, decision, mode and outcome. Use it alongside the receiving module's record to investigate blocked work, missing inputs and failed handoffs.

Circuit breakers and stop controls can contain further activity while a problem is reviewed. Do not assume paused work will all replay automatically, or that stopping the pipeline reverses an accepted submission. Reconcile outstanding records, address the cause and resume a controlled scope.

Bring these details to a workflow review

  • Source event and required input fields
  • Receiving module and completion condition
  • Effective mode and approved overrides
  • Workload limits and approval owner
  • Exception, stop and controlled-resume procedure

Common questions

Does an automatic mode remove human accountability?

No. The organization still owns configuration, authorization, exception review and outcome verification. Use reviewed or notification-only modes where the workflow has not been validated for automatic execution.

Can payment and denial work share a pipeline?

They can be coordinated through scoped events and configured handoffs. Keep payment confirmation, denial case creation, appeal preparation and external appeal submission as distinct outcomes with their own checks.

Is execution history a compliance certification?

No. Operational history supports investigation, but it does not itself establish a legal or security certification. Discuss access, retention and deployment-specific controls with the team through the Trust Center.

Confirm the scope for your environment

Availability depends on the configured modules, interfaces, permissions and validated workflow. Talk with the team about your current systems, review responsibilities and required outcomes.
